Why have a brow lift?

The problem with an aging forehead is the effect it has on our facial expressions– a sagging, heavily furrowed brow can cause us to look constantly tired, worried or even angry.

Some of us are also genetically inclined to have a heavier, thicker brow, making us look as though we are wearing a frown even when we are feeling our best.

A brow lift directly addresses these issues, helping patients enjoy a more naturally refreshed appearance as well as other positive changes.

What Is Brow Lift Surgery?

A brow lift, also commonly called a forehead lift, rejuvenates the face above the eyes to restore a more refreshed appearance that better reflects a patient’s natural vibrance.

By removing excess sagging, skin on the forehead and repositioning the underlying muscles and tissues, a brow lift can correct a heavy, sagging brow, eliminate deep furrows, and restore a smoother, more youthful contour to the upper one third of the face.

Who Is a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?

Anyone who has eyebrows that sit lower than they’d like or obstruct their vision could benefit from a brow lift. Additionally, if you have forehead lines or the “angry 11s” between your eyebrows, the procedure could benefit you. Most people who get brow lifts are over 40, but there is no upper or lower age limit on who can get this surgery.

Fast Facts:

  • Raises & smooths drooping eyebrows, rejuvenates upper face
  • Many can be performed endoscopically, therefore reducing recovery time & incision size
  • Patients usually return to work about one week after surgery

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a brow lift cost?
Brow lifts are tailored to the needs of the patient, and the price is tailored to the specifics of the procedure. This means there is no set cost. To know how much a brow lift will cost you, schedule a consultation with Dr. Pack. Expect your estimate to include the surgeon’s fee, anesthesia fee and facility/OR fee. It may include other costs as well.

Will a brow lift improve my vision?
If your eyebrows are sagging enough to reduce your field of vision, getting them lifted can open it back up. However, most people seek a brow lift before things reach this point. If your vision issues are related to things like nearsightedness or farsightedness, a brow lift will not make a difference
.

What are the scars like after a brow lift?
They should be hidden in your hair line, so they won’t be visible in most cases. You may find that you can feel them, though, since scar tissue tends to be raised. When they are fresh, they could be red enough to see, but over time, expect them to fade to the point where you no longer notice them
.

How old do I need to be before getting a brow lift?
There is no lower (or upper) age limit beyond being of legal age. Most people won’t see much benefit from a brow lift until they are in their late 20s or early 30s. The important thing is that you are healthy enough for surgery and have realistic expectations for how it will help you
